She's a Little Bit of Sunshine

She's a little bit of sunshine
She's a smile to light your days
She will steal your heart and keep it
With her warm endearing ways
She's your precious little daughter
With a sweetness from above
Who will fill your years with laughter
And your lives with lots of love

Cute Idea with Cookie Trays

I love THIS idea to display your kiddo's masterpieces!
Super Cute:

I am not sure what wild hair got to me this time, but I have redecorated the main bathroom in our home and rearranged Aliyah's playroom. I have so many ideas for that playroom and have started collecting a few old cookie trays already. I will post on Harmony of the Home (my very neglected blog) when I finish my rendition of this.

Earthquakes

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsus/
I know this isn't all that exciting, but I thought that I should document my first earthquake. Oklahoma has been experiencing many hefty quakes and on Sunday night, people in the KC area could feel the shakes from yet another Oklahoma earthquake.

I was sitting on our bed checking a few emails after settling Aliyah back down to sleep. At first, I thought it was the wind rattling the windows. Things got louder when the mirror on the dresser started to shake, rattling the necklaces I have draped over the side. Then, I noticed the bed I was sitting on was vibrating. YIKES!

I jumped off the bed and watched it for a second. That is when it hit me that it was so noisy with the windows/necklaces rattling. I ran into Aliyah's room (she was fast asleep) and by that time, everything had stopped. What Was That?!? I ran to Tyler (watching football downstairs) and asked if he felt anything. Nope. I wonder if it made a difference that I was on the top floor while Tyler was in the basement (or maybe Tyler was just really into the game?).

We are praying for those families who are in the midst of these quakes and sending a special prayer to keep my cousins safe who are living in Tulsa.

Baking

We thought it would a great idea to make "healthy" sugar cookies and decorate them as a family fun event. Well... I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Take a look:
YEAH!!! COOKIES!!!!

A little warm. Better blow on it.

Munch, munch, munch...

What the HECK is this?!?

Yup, this one about sums it up! It was a nice idea, but when we make cookies it's back good 'ol fashion recipes for us!

Ribbit

Our baby ali-gator has been trying out some new animals lately. Here she is doing her best (tired) frog impersonation...
We got this hat at an amazing store called Ten Thousand Villages. It's a fair trade retailer that is solely operated by volunteers. Everything in the store is unique because it is handmade from different cultures around the world (38 different countries to be exact). Shopping never felt so good!
